Vintage Imperial Carnival Glass Footed Compote Bowl Open Rose Pattern in Iridescent Marigold Color with Ruffled EdgeWow! This little bowl has more colors sparkling the more you look at it!
Standing 3” tall and 8” across the top. The Indiana Glass makers Mark is embedded in the base for clear identification.
The Imperial Glass Company manufactured this in the Open Rose pattern with a ruffled upper edge. There are no chips and cracks or flea bites. Any lines that you see are also the seams from the pressed glass manufacturers process and are not defects. Please see the pictures I have included.
Pressed glass innovations at the end of the 1800’s and early 1900’s made it easier for American families to afford these lovely bright glass trinkets and dinnerware. Glassware was sought after and the glass manufacturers sought to provide households with a variety of patterns for everyday use and for decoration to treasure. Glass items were sought after as prizes at Carnivals. The history is fascinating and will give you an insight to our grandparents way of life.
