1949 Mighty Joe Young Movie Marquis Promo Figure

This is an early cinema promo figure for Mighty Joe Young. I’ve shown this to a bevy of enthusiastic collectors. The consensus is that this is as advertised. An early Promo piece created to sit in a lobby and attract potential movie goers. the figure has a dye struck cardboard inner skeletal structure, with a gauzy paper Mâché body with a final layer of hard plaster for the furry effect. Far to complicated to be a kit. There are no markings about the plastic feet and hands. The figure stands 18” w X 12” h. I am well aware that this is not a “poster” yet I have listed it in the poster category.
